The International Dance Festival New Orleans is excited to announce the 2025 Summer Residency Program!
IDFNOLA has invited independent movement artists for a choreographic residency in New Orleans. The International Dance Festival NOLA aims to enrich the cultural fabric of New Orleans by making contemporary dance accessible to all, promoting diversity, and supporting the professional growth of dance artists.
Two artists are selected, each for one week of creative investigation.
-Week 1 Option: July 20th-July 28th, 2025 (open lottery - no application required)
-Week 2 Option: July 27th-August 8th, 2025 (adjudicated submissions)
The resident choreographers receive a $500 honorarium, housing, and studio access at Tulane University. Artists may apply as a collective for one week, or as an individual. This is an open creative time and artists may elect how they would like to use their time. There is no formal requirement for a public showing.
**We recognize the time it takes for artists to apply for funding and residency opportunities can take them away from their craft. In an effort to reduce the burden of hours we have created two different application processes. One is a lottery that will be drawn at random, the second is a more formal application that speaks to your current work and investigation. Potential guest artists are welcome to apply for one or both, but will ultimately only be awarded one week.**
