Amalia Najera

Amalia Najera is a Chicago-based artist pursuing a degree in Exercise Science and Dance with a minor in Latin American Studies at Tulane University. She trained extensively in ballet, jazz, contemporary, and modern techniques at the Academy of Movement and Music. With a focus on historical modern techniques, she trained in Humphrey (Gail Corbin, Gina Sigismondi), Graham (Sandra Kaufmann, The Martha Graham School of Contemporary Dance), Weidman (Anne Marie Loesch, Deborah Carr), and Duncan (Lori Belilove). Additionally, she was a member of the MOMENTA Dance Company, where she performed many new and historic works. She is excited to perform her first developed choreographic work, "Good Game," and share the piece with the International Dance Festival New Orleans!
