WHAT YOU NEED TO KNOW ABOUT THE 2024 FESTIVAL

With so much going on, we wanted to break it down for you. For booking, tickets, and event details–check out our frequently asked questions below!

I purchased a "Festival Pass" now what?

This year we are thrilled to be working with the WHOVA app. This app can be downloaded on both iphones and androids.

Once you have purchased the festival pass you will receive an email letting you know that you can log into your whova app.

Step 1: Download the WHOVA app

Step 2: Search for the International Dance Festival (because you've already purchased the pass you will have access)

Step 3: Click on the Agenda at select each event you would like to attend. By selecting each event you'd like to attend you are fully signed up. Feel free to set your reminders and you can view your personal calendar under the "my agenda" tab"

As a festival pass holder you are welcome to attend masterclasses, performances, the dance film festival and/or artist chats. Please sign up for everything you are interested in. Some events have limited space so make sure you reserve your spot early!

Why do I need the app?

Technology has its pros and cons for sure, but using the app will allow you to get more up to date information on the festival, manage your own schedule across multiple events, connect with other festival goers, and share images and contacts more easily. Our hope is that this shift allows us all to stay more connected this year.

What's parking like?

You will receive a "know before you go" for all performances. For masterclasses, you will be able to find parking information in the app. In addition to street parking being available at all locations, ride share services such as Uber/Lyft, or public transportation are always good options.

Late admittance to shows?

It is New Orleans but we will strive to start on time. Please plan to be here to the start of the show. Late admittance will be at the discretion of the ushers based on the individual piece.

Masterclasses - what levels are welcome?

We are thrilled you are interested in moving with us. Sometimes leveling can feel daunting when it is a new environment but we want you to know that you are welcome. You will see the level of the class posted in the class description for reference but we encourage you try something new if you are at all on the fence.

Refunds?

From the moment that the transaction is completed, all tickets are non-refundable and non-exchangeable, unless a show has been cancelled or the particulars of the show change in a manner that results in the consumer being unable or unwilling to attend – in this instance we will notify you and reimburse the price of the tickets as soon as possible. In respect of purchases through the website, completion is deemed to be once you have agreed to the terms and conditions and clicked to confirm your purchase. Tickets will be issued as e-tickets only.

Also, we live in New Orleans. We will notify you if events need to be canceled due to weather. Of course we hope not, but we will keep you posted.

Who is welcome at the Artist Mixer / Louisiana Dance Alliance - Friday, Sept 13th @ 6pm?

This is an artist meet-up. If you're asking the question to begin with, you should probably be here. We want to meet you, and we want to help you connect to other artists, educators, venues and resources.

Everyone who self-identifies as an artist and/or a movement artist, or works in a related field (such as a funder, venue, photographer, composer etc) is very welcome to attend.

There will be snacks and a cash bar and the event will lead right into the performance that night at the Marigny Opera House.

At the event you will be given additional information on signing up for the Louisiana Dance Alliance, including what membership to this organization will include. Join us because we want to meet you!!

I'm an artist who wants to get involved in a future festival, what can I do?

While the festival does not offer an official application process, we always want to know about new, or new-to-us artists. We work to see as many artists throughout the year as possible, but we also know there are many artists we don't yet know. PlWe are currently paused for this year but please look out for an online form to let us know about your project later in the fall.

Tickets at the door?

We do offer single, day-of tickets to the nightly performances. Any remaining tickets will be available to be purchased on site at 7pm when the house opens each night. Please note, festival passes do take priority so tickets will only be sold if available.

Masterclasses also offer day of, single class tickets, where available. If you are interested in attending only one class, please visit the Tulane University, McWilliams Hall class location on your preferred class date.
